Teacher's Day in SASEM: 16th May 2013

An awesome Teacher's day celebration despite the gloomy outlook! I must admit I was really happy on this day. Thanks to the organising committee. However, perhaps a little coordination would have prevented some delays in the programmes. Still, a day to remember :)

ELDSS Teacher's Day Project

In a bid to instill a sense of appreciation for their teachers in conjunction with Teacher's Day, the ELDSS initiated the sale of doughnuts and cupcakes on the special day. Permission was given and orders were taken two weeks before. Three types of doughnuts and two types of cupcakes were on the order list. The committee worked very hard to make sure everything went according to plan. I would like to thank all the ELDSS committee members for their commitment in carrying out our project successfully particularly to Wan Er (President), Priya (Vice-President), Susu (Secretary), Amalia (Fm5 rep), Farah Yasmin, Yoges (Treasure) and everyone else who helped. Bravo girls!!  Am proud of you! In addition thanks to Mrs Nuraszlin (ELDSS advisor afternoon session) and her committee members for helping. I certainly hope we achieved our objectives. The whole affair was fun and we made a tidy sum too for the ELDSS fund :) I wanted to upload a slideshow as they are many pretty picts but the connection is super slow tonight.  Will see to it later. Well-done to one and all!

You could really say I 'menyumbangkan suara' literally :)

This post is rather late I know as I have been rather pressed for time lately. However, it's still not too late to wish all my former teachers, would-be teachers and all teachers a "Happy Teacher's Day". Keep the passion burning :) I decided to join the choir that morning itself after having been away in Perak the week before. Despite some audio problems, we sang the Kenny, Remy and Martin song beautifully (Biarku menjadi lilin...) The students put up some wonderful performances (thanks girls) and I was mesmerised by one athlete's dancing of the zapin!! Didn't realise she had a talent for dancing too!

Children's Short Story Competition, Teacher's Day 2011

Date: 16 Feb 2011 (Wed)
Venue: SMK Tinggi Kluang

I was requested by the PPD Kluang to give  a talk on what makes a good story to a group of primary and secondary teachers in the district. This was an effort to encourage more participation from Kluang for the 'Pertandingan Menulis Cerita Kanak-Kanak Sempena Hari guru 2011'.

Bravo Kluang Choral Speakers!!

Bravo to the choral speakers for their sterling performance
in the recent Johor State Teacher's Day celebration!!

Well-done to the whole team: Ismail Yon (chief trainer and YPD Majlis Guru Cemerlang Kluang), the trainers Vasu, Puniah, Mui Nair, Patidah for your effort and dedication and Hjh Mahizan (SMK Cannossian  Convent, Kluang) for  taking care of the team. This was a collaboration between Majlis Guru Cemerlang Kluang (MGCK) and SMK Canossian convent, Kluang. Proud to be a part of the team.  Thank you God for the inspiration when I was editing the script. Tuan PPD sent two messages saying that the director (Tn Hj Sufaat Tumin) was in tears and was touched by the teachers' performance. I also received a message from En Hasidin (Ketua Sektor Pengurusan Sekolah) congratulating them on their performance. BRAVO Kluang!!

Good luck to the team taking part in the state level Teacher's Day! Great job Mahyudin, Hjh Mahizan, Ismail Yon, Vasu, Puniah, Patidah, Mui Nar and all those who helped make this a success. Without them, we would not have made it. All the trainers deserve a medal! We started from nothing but look at them now! My small contribution was in editing the script but I'm proud to be a part of the team. Am trying to upload the teacher's performance to youtube but the size is mighty big!! All the best on Monday- such a shame I can't be there. Daughter's convo on the same date!!

helloooo!

They have been rehearsing hard..three days in a row and it's no small feat with the heat we've been experiencing..the drama techniques have broken the ice and the teachers are more at ease with one another. Tn Hj Shaharudin (PPD Kluang) came to give the participants motivation and to remind them to do their best. After all, Kluang is hosting the state level Teacher's Day celebration this year. Next week they are practising in SMK Spg Renggam, the venue of the celebration. Good luck to all of them!

State Level Teacher's Day Presentation Rehearsal (1)

Teachers in action

Ismail training the teachers

Kluang has been entrusted to produce a special presentation from teachers for the state level Teacher's Day celebration on the 28th May 2010. I managed to edit the text but am not sure now what the concept of the presentation is like. Perhaps it's theater and choral speaking all infused into one. Well, the PPD would like to see action from different parts of the stage. It's no small feat rehearsing for this presentation. Thank God Ismail Yon (Chairman, MGC Kluang) finally came to lend a hand. SMCC is definitely grateful. Today and the next two days will see rehearsals and drama techniques to get teachers to loosen up. The heat doesn't help at all...but the job has to be done! It's great to see some young talent getting into the mood and acting their part. I pray that they will come up with a sterling performance. Time sure flies! We don't have much time left..
