asslamualaikum, puan rahimah. i'm *****and it's nice to meet u! the reason why i send u this message is bcuz i need ur help as i had seen ur blog recently. my friends and i have to perform the form 4 drama "gulp and gasp". however, we are lack of preparations for it. easy to say, we dun know how to prepare ourselves for the drama. we would appreciate if u could help us. we have been told to do it short within 10 mins. we dunno how to cut the drama short and can be understood by the other classmates. we hope u can understand our problems rite now & willingly to guide us out.
thank u

My Reply:
wassalam,
i suggest u take only the important parts- focus only on the most important parts of message. it can be something humorous u know not something too serious. or u could suggest to your lecturer to divide the acts by pages. this way each group has to present a small part and once every group has performed, u will have a complete play. all the best

Assalamualaikum and greetings.

I'm Safwan, an English teacher trainee from IPG Kampus Bahasa Antarabangsa, KL. I'm currently doing my teaching practice in a school in the PJ area and I have to teach a Form 4 class Gulp and Gasp, but I really don't know where to start. To begin with, the students only possessed low proficiency in English and most students come from a moderate, if not poor, family background. I'm teaching two class; the first class is okay, the students are cooperative except some troublemakers and passengers. The latter is quite troublesome, as the class is very productive in the number of disciplinary cases. They have limited language skills and vocabulary. Thus, I found out the text Gulp and Gasp is too difficult for them and I need some really interesting ideas so learning drama is something fun and refreshing for them. Not forgetting, the language content. Hope to hear from you soon. Cheers.

wassallam safwan,
thanks for ur qquestions. yes, the language in G and G is not easy for low proficiency students because it's very British. However, the storyline is not that hard i think. find ways how to simplify the story to ur students. go to the top tabs on my blog and click on literature resources. hope u can find some ideas there ok . Best :)
